Bignold has always prided itself on being a global school, (hence the logo). The Bignold staff team feel that now is the right time to develop this theme more formally, by working with UNICEF to promote an understanding of, and an engagement with, the United Nations Convention on the Rights Of The Child(UNCRC). Our aim is to support all our pupils to be global citizens of the future.

We are working to achieve the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award(RRSA) The award puts the United Nations Convention on the Right of the Child at the heart of the school’s practice to improve wellbeing and relationships. As a result, better learning and behaviour help all children to realise their potential. The Journey to achieve the award also supports children to see the wider world picture and become global citizens with a voice to help and support themselves and children all over the world live a life based on the principles underpinning the award, equality, dignity, respect, non –discrimination and participation.

We are very proud to announce that we have recently been awarded our Recognition of Commitment which means that the school can use the Logo above on it’s documents.
